My husband and I own a farm in the Missouri Ozarks. We raise beef cattle and Missouri Fox Trotter horses. We have two awesome children, a wonderful son-in-law, a beautiful granddaughter, who live on the land and work the business of cattle and horses. Diamond Sittings is just another one of our wonderfully crazy adventures!
I personally have always enjoyed looking at photographs of all kinds, people, places and things! I really see life in pictures. I have always tried to figure out what the person was thinking, what their expression said to me or what life was like at the time of the photograph. I would wonder what it would be like to step into the picture, experience the reality of what the photographer saw. Live the adventure!
My niece Kellie at Little Reflections studio in Kempner, Texas began her career in portrait photography a few years ago and when I saw her work I fell in love with it. The most unique style I had seen anywhere. The type of portraits you would only find on the walls of the very rich and famous!!!! When I expressed an interest she said, “You can do this!” I heard something in her voice I had never heard in my life…someone telling me, “You can do this!” Well this is what I wanted to do. I began watching her website. I could not get enough. I bought a camera, she taught me what she could in a weekend visit to photograph our daughter’s wedding. I just started shooting. I would shoot hundreds of shots to get one “good” one! I remain her biggest fan. She allowed me to work alongside her (after my second camera purchase) at her studio in Texas. The best summer vacation I ever had two summers in a row!!! She also got an invitation to a photographers workshop in Illinois with some of the best (second to Kellie) photographers and invited me along. To say, “I will be forever grateful” is the understatement of the century, but full of truth!
My desire is capture the very best of everyone I photograph, and have the most fun you’ll ever have in a studio! Every person who has been to my studio has said it was fun! Even though they may NOT have wanted to be photographed they had fun letting me try! From dads who expressed dread because his son did not want to come, to those high school seniors insisting that they would not there if their mom hadn’t begged (demanded), to mothers bringing their children back again and again because they remembered how much fun the fishing dock was, and that beautiful young lady who wanted to look like a model and did, I say thank you for letting me capture the moment with you!
Thanks to my family for their support, Jim for the money management, Cindy for promotions & marketing, Darrin for furnishing wood for the fireplace and a million other things, Shane for building fishing dock and providing me with the cutest little model anyone could ask for (just love watching her grow!), and for Lexie being my biggest fan!!
